December is an exciting month for us at WMES, it is our third and final talk for 2014. John Wyatt will be speaking for us on Birds in Ancient Egypt on Wednesday 10th December, 6.30-7.30pm at The Pen Museum. On the door charges apply for the talk of £3.50/£2.50. In this meeting we will also be drawing a raffle to celebrate Christmas so we have some great Egyptological prizes for you all supported by Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and The Barber Institute. Raffle tickets are only 50p so join in the fun!
After our meeting we will be continuing our festivities at The Bacchus Bar in the Ancient Egyptian room, where we will have a Christmas buffet. We have been so lucky to have our after drinks here, so it only feels right our Christmas party is here! Our speaker John Wyatt will also be joinig us! It is £10.99 for the buffet, excluding drinks. Also some exciting news is that we have our first WMES museum trip on Saturday 13th December. We are so privileged to have exclusive behind the scenes access to Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery’s conservation labs, where currently the Egyptian mummy and sarcophagus Nakhetamun resides until the 16th December where it will travel on tour to Shrewsbury museum. Tickets are only £2. To reserve your space please email us by Friday 10th December at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will be collecting money for this at our next meeting at the pen museum as well as at Birmingham museum.
